Street Roots is hoping to blast into summer with your support. We have put together a great list of teams that you can give too at the Street Roots Summer Rally!
How does it work?
If you or your coworkers, business, friends or family want to create a team to help support Street Roots — it’s as easy as pie.
If creating your own team seems like a hassle, pick one of our many teams and give a donation.
Teams:
- Cats United: This team was created by the Street Roots office cat Rooty in solidarity with cats and cat people everywhere.
- I hart editor's: This team is made up of the Street Roots editorial team that delivers Portland great journalism and voices from the community.
- Giant Robot: This team is made up of tech geeks collaborating for justice everywhere.
- Team Harmon(e)y: Street Roots does a lot to highlight local musicians — here's a chance for music lovers to give back!
- Papermakers: This team is for the lonesome donor who believes in Street Roots, but can't be put into any category.
- OpenSourcery: This local business builds some of the most innovative websites in the world. We're proud to have the support of their company.
- The Underdogs: This team believes that Street Roots is the little train that can and will be successful!
* Don't forget, you or your business can start one today. There's still time. The SR Summer Rally will last until Sunday, June 24.
Why should you give your hard earned money to Street Roots?
— The newspaper is delivering Portland and the region award-winning journalism that believes in solutions. By highlighting important issues that affect us all, we are creating a foundation for real social change. Plus, we provide a platform for countless organizations and individuals in the city that reaches 15,000 readers every two weeks.
— We help give nearly 300 individuals and families a hand-up through our vendor program. We help prevent and/or end people’s homelessness with each sale of the newspaper. The social change we seek is literally in your pocket.
— We provide more than 100,000 Rose City Resource Guides to more than 200 organizations and institutions in the region — giving people real tools to navigate out of poverty.
— We are leaders on the housing and homeless advocacy front. We not only provide a vehicle for countless organizations to spread the word, we also lead important and successful advocacy efforts to support housing and homeless services, civil rights and equity for people in poverty in Portland and around the state.
Street Roots believes in good. We believe that with love and strategic thinking we can change the world, both individually and communally. We believe in real change.
