The NAYA Native American Literature class has been studying the history of Celilo Falls, shown at right, and the impact of the building of the dam on Native communities. Students wrote two-voice poems, capturing two perspectives on the building of the dam and the loss of the falls. The voices are distinguished between straight text and italics.

I come to stay,

Aries (March 21–April 19) It’s a strange world. If you know up from down this month, then you are well ahead of the rest of us. Stick with that.

Taurus (April 20-May 20) It’s spring. BTW, it’s not. It’s still gloomy and wet and cold. At least the flowers are blooming. Take the good with the bad this month.

Aries (March 21–April 19) If I was a shorty, I would love it if my parents went to PHUKET for vacay so I could keep pronouncing it wrong on purpose in front of them.

Taurus (April 20-May 20) There are so many broken systems from the economy to school systems jail systems … We need experts for this. My area of expertise is in music, my passion is in music design film and products … My strength is connectivity …

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20) Boss caught you looking at ESPN again? Woops. At least you’ll be able to rattle off statistics about his favorite sports teams. You can brown nose and catch up on your sports news, too.

Aries (March 21-April 19) Forget the iPhone today. Dust off your palm pilot: pens and hands at the ready. Careful how you fall asleep though, or you will have face pilot.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) Get out of your house today and use your tail to spear the gear for your new project. You’ve got the daring to get it done, but you already knew that.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) You can have your cake and eat it, too. In fact, you can have some for leftovers. Try the batter while you are at it. And hop to! Ursa Major is about to leave hibernation, so there isn’t a minute to lose.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) Optimism is your friend and so are your persuasive abilities. If you’re on a debate team, today’s the day to take the lead.

So not only do we not know what’s going on, we also don’t know where we are, where we’re going, or how we’re supposed to get there. Go with the flow this year.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) To err is human, to forgive, divine. This does not, however, apply to the playoffs. There is no forgiveness in the playoffs. Yeah, I’m looking right at you, Rahim Moore.
